Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Lost Planet is a video game on the Playstation3 gaming system. Turns out, it plugs into the internet and interacts with others on the same PSN (Playstation Network).

There are 11 levels of normal play and I just got to 9. But, the other day, I discovered that I can battle with or against others on-line. WoW! It is sssO cool!

Originally, I bought a 2nd PS3 game of it (Lost Planet: Extreme Condition) for my bro in Pittsburgh, so we can battle online together. I had never done that before, online, with video games.
Well, we finally got online together and it turns out that it was a bit different than I thought. We ended up fighting each other. But it was really cool! He was better than I thought he was. I guess he’d been practicing. lol

Anyway… Last night, I was battling on teams with the general public and I sent a personal message to a member, apologizing for getting booted off-line. The wireless connection is bad in my home at times. (need to find a fix for that!)
The jerk wrote back something very offensive. I was blown away! WTF! I was trying to be nice! I guess that doesn’t fly in the online gaming world, huh?

Late at night, here in the Washington DC area, there was mostly Japanese players. It was probably the afternoon there for them. Hardly anyone had a headset and if they did, it was in a foreign language I could not understand.

I am only at level 12 of 99 and only have a choice of 3 suits, whereas others who are at higher levels can run around in underwear. (I think that is very silly & inappropriate! But, these are probably, mostly kids, but that is a whole ‘nother discussion for a different category! “kids of today”)

I think I may change my online name, though. I use the same screen name that I use in my yahoo account. Perhaps I will change it to one of my favorite death metal bands. HA!

Anyway… If you read this and are interested, please… Join in and let’s discuss this awesome game! You can, either, reply directly or sign uP. I do not spam.

  • Met a super cool gamer … AnAndres 🙂
Great advice btw – didn’t know how to “roll”.
Having a bit of trouble at rolling, but getting better. (I think)

I have enemies in the world. Right? And I try very hard to keep my anonymity. So, that’s why I don’t really have images of my world on here just-yet.
I have figured out how to password protect, but just have not implemented it into this site yet, because this site (compared to my other professional ones) is made out of WordPress and is a bit more difficult to do javascript and stuff.

  • OK … I think I may be getting a little better. Andy (AnAndres) helped a lot! But there are some serious punks out there that definitely need attitude adjustments.
My nephew, Brendan, has been here for a week from Pittsburgh and has certainly been a champ at letting me get my Lost Planet training *on*.
My current trouble is aiming. I can move around pretty good, but my aiming is horrible.
I owe Andy a bluetooth as promised! (they are inexpensive and I completely appreciate the help in training)
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is A-effen-mazing! I absolutely love it!
It seems, however, that I just-might-not “have a life”, if I go out of my way to play this sssO much! (but it is extremely addicting and I can’t help it! lol)
“Hive Complex”, “Island 902”, “Ruins” and “Ice Drop” are my favorite online battles. I don’t really care for “Radar Field”, “Trial Point”, “Lost Technology” or “Battle Ground”.
I *just* ordered Lost Planet 2 from eBay for only $20. It’s used, but they guarantee great condition. HA!

  • Last night, I discovered “chat”, outside the “messaging” part, in the psn (playstation network). I was chatting with my wireless keypad for the 1st time, too. I plugged the usb thing in and wham! “Plug & play!” I did not even have to configure anything. It worked on its own. (((lil-danse))) No more messing with the ps3 controller for text. HA!
I chatted with my buddy AnAndres and his girl: loving_hinata321 from Malaysia. Very cool people, but young enough to be my children. They are OK with that, though. I am just a big ol kid anyway.
Also, I discovered really cool items on eBay for the LP (Lost Planet) world.
    “Toys!” HA! 🙂
Below, is an image of the best suit one can get in. It is called “Hardballer”.

  • Last night, I met AnAndres girlfriend in Malaysia. The 3 of us were in a chat together. She speaks fluent English and seems really nice.
(getting slightly better at LP, too)

  • OK! The eBay things are coming in slowly! I just got Lost Planet 2 and I love it! OMG! It is awesome! I heard bad reviews about it, but they are silly! Perhaps I can see why they don’t like it, but that’s too harsh! I think it’s great!
I also just got my new bluetooth headset. It is extra-extra good! Everything sounds sssO much better and I even sound more clear to the others playing online. It wraps over my head and the microphone is on an arm that goes out to my mouth. It is way more comfortable, too, than what I’ve *been* using!
I haven’t gotten my new Ethernet cable yet. Can’t wait for *that* to get here, cos my wireless connection keeps going out on me while I’m playing. That will stop as soon as I use the 50′ Ethernet cord. HA!
Also, I am still waiting on my VS toys. They are taking longer to get here, but that’s fine. I am patient!

  • OMG!I *just* started playing Lost Planet 2 and WoW! I am blown away! IT IS SO AWESOME! I cannot stop playing it!
It was in the middle of the night and there were 95% Japanese on there, but they were all very cool. I didn’t talk to any of them, but we battled together and it was amazing!
There is this one VS (Virtual Suit) that you can get in 1 of 2 shoulder pods and shoot while a pilot steers. I was walking around, minding my own business and accidentally bumped into one of ours (my team) and he stopped so I could get in the shoulder and shoot, too. GAWD! It was sssO fun! I could not stop smiling! And I’m sure the Japanese guy couldn’t either, cos it was sssO fun!
But in another match, I got in the drivers seat and a Japanese guy was on *my* shoulder shooting and at one point, I could not control where we were going. So, he bailed out. I ended up destroying myself & the suit. lol
I am already up to level 5 of 99, but have a LOT to learn. Even though it is extremely similar to Lost Planet 1.
“Thanks Japanese people! That was fun! I can not wait to do it again!”

  • A couple months have gone bye and I’m still blown away by this game! In fact, it seems to have opened up a whole new field, for me, to gaming. Now, I have been playing “1st person shooter” games and love THEM, too. (never really liked 1st-person-shooter games)
    I have been playing Modern Warfare 2 (mw2) & Halo:Reach on the xBox 360. Also, I’ve been playing BattleField:Bad Company (BF:BC) 1 & 2 on the ps3 and I love them! (((sheesh)))
mw2, however, kinda struck me pretty hard when I first started. It had me going through an airport killing innocent people. It looked sssO real, it slightly affected me ‘mentally’. I can’t imagine people with Schizophrenia or other Psychotic Disorders play this game. Then go out into the real world?
If anyone surfs into my site, here, and has had concerns like this, please… respond in the field below and lets discuss this. DON”T WORRY- I am the only one who has access to the email addy’s submitted and I would not spam you or anything bad. (I used to worry about that, too, before I became a webmaster and found that it’s not like what I thought. At least, not at this level of a site. Perhaps W@lmart or f@cebook has “Databases” that collect email addresses and spam, but not me)

  • OK – 2 years later, I consider myself to be a “weathered online gamer”. Also, per my local buddies recommendation back-then, I *now* prefer FPS games. 3rd person shooters are still fun, but switching back & forth can really mess up my k/d ratio in FPS.
    (k/d = kills vs deaths)
    (FPS = First Person Shooter)
